Here is the link (only accessible for registered participants with the e-mail address with which they participated)
https://app.hyhyve.com/?spaceId=xgOlDEviPGMw8DHDLQhmy
You are part of Brightcon as you were sitting physically in the room. The platform comes with a main stage, breakout rooms, poster corner, sponsors booth, and recreational area.
INSTRUCTIONS:
When you want to login the first time, please access the Link. You will be prompted to give your name. You can also choose to make/add a picture of yourself, and add few keywords which describe your interests, experience, and background. The latter helps other attendees to network with you.
GUIDED TOUR:
- You can then enter the space and will be present as an avatar in that space. You can move around using your arrow keys, and zoom in/out. The space looks as shown below. You can already enter and test the room from now on, but obviously the party will start Wednesday only (i.e. links, posters etc. are not yet all there).
- All presentations will happen in the plenary room. If you move your avatar to the blue squared plenary space, a meeting will be started. The picture below shows what to expect: You can see the speaker, the room, the online attendees, and the shared screen of the presenter.
- A meeting starts when you bump into another attendee. Take the chance to network if it happens accidentally J.
- If you don’t want to be dragged into a meeting, you may either leave the space or move to the Quite Room.
- Barcamps and the workshops will happen in the group work & tables room.
- The information desk gives you the same instructions as the ones written here.
- The Agenda gives a link to the timetable on indico.
- In the poster corner you can access the five posters which Brightcon 2025 features.
- Recreation&fun: You will find some games to play here
- Coffee breaks&welcome chats: If you want to arrive a bit ahead of a scheduled session, this is the place to discuss about content already presented, network, or just chat loosely.
- For attendees from other time zones, the recordings of the sessions will be findable in the “Recordings room”. Just hover over the table to see the instructions. Recordings will be on a Youtube Channel, and the videos can be played directly in that room.
- Help! I need somebody hosts a link to a whiteboard where you can post questions/ideas/discussion points. Please place a sticky note with your comment, and add you name and whether you are online/on-site. The idea is that throughout the whole conference all questions will be solved or discussed.
- If you are online and want to speak up, please unmute yourself and raise your hand. You may also switch on your video. We will see all these activities and pass you the word.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS if you experience bandwidth problems: you can do two things:
- At the right hands side panel of the space in the Settings, you can choose “Low-data mode”
- If your meeting diagnostics and the sound/video quality indicate that the connection is instable, you can click on the Meeting diagnostics icon with the three bars and Disable incoming videos
. However, this will only keep the sound and also make the presentation disappear.
