How to reach Aalborg

  • 👩‍💻 To plan any trip with public transport within Denmark, both to/from Aalborg and within Aalborg, use Rejseplanen.
  • 🚅 by Train. Via Hamburg with change in Aarhus.  Or directly from Copenhagen airport. Buy tickets from DSB for travel within Denmark. For train travel from outside Denmark use DSB udland.
  • ✈ By Plane. Aalborg is served by one main airport, with additional international options nearby:
    • Aalborg Airport (AAL). Only 15 minutes by bus from the city center, with direct flights to Copenhagen, Amsterdam Schiphol, and several European destinations.
    • Copenhagen Airport (CPH). Denmark’s main international hub. Take a flight connection to Aalborg airport (40 min) or a train directly from the airport to Aalborg station (5 hours, with connection in Aarhus).
    • Billund Airport (BLL). Denmark’s second‑largest airport with extensive international routes. To reach Aalborg, take a bus to Aarhus or Vejle and then a train (3 hours).
  • 🚗 By Car. Aalborg sits along the E45 motorway, the main north–south artery of Jutland. This provides easy access to Aarhus, Odense, Copenhagen (via the Great Belt Bridge), and northern routes toward Norway and Sweden via ferry connections.
  • ⛴️ By Ferry from terminals in Frederikshavn, Grenaa or Hirtsals and then car or public transport (check on Rejseplanen).

 

How to reach AAU Innovate

  • From the city center, take Bus 2 direction Universitetet or Hospitalsbyen. Runs every 10 minutes. Stop at Pontoppidanstræde (Bertil Ohlins Vej / Aalborg) or AAU Fibigerstræde (Bertil Ohlins Vej / Aalborg).Plan your trip with  Rejseplanen.
