openLCA
To get familiar with LCA modelling in openLCA, please watch this 20-min tutorial before the course.
The tutorial shows the basic work flow in openLCA, going from creating flows, processes and product systems, all the way to working with parameters.
The openLCA system dynamics course focuses on the system dynamics feature of openLCA. You will not be required to do LCA modelling during the training exercises. All the LCA models used in the training exercises will already be pre-modelled and made available in the provided training database. Watching the tutorial above allows those that are not familiar with openLCA to have a basic understanding of the software, the LCA modelling steps as well as the common openLCA database structure.

No software installation is required for bw_timex as we will be working on a jupyter server.
openLCA
Step 1 – Installation
Before the training, make sure you have the latest version of openLCA downloaded and installed. The training software version will be made available 1 week before the course. You will find the installation file here (link to be added).
Installation instructions can be found here.
Step 2 – Activating the system dynamics feature
For the openLCA system dynamics training you need to enable "Support for system dynamics models" in your software preferences. Instructions on this can be found here.
Step 3 – Download and import the training database

Download the .zolca file and import it into openLCA. Instructions on how to import a database can be found here.
